Rocky Ford 08

So Jeff and I headed over to Rocky Ford on 3/13/08 to do a little fishing.. Jeff's Wife had to be in Moses lake for a training thing, so we decided why not fish...

We got on the creek I think around 8:30 am and were the first people there.. Overcast day and light rain a little later on... I decided I would try some streamer action and Jeff started with a nymph rig... Since its RF and you can see 90% of the fish, streamer fishing seemed like it would be fun.. So rite where we were fishing was what looked to be like a huge fish.. I ran several different streamers by him and he would chace, but turn away at the last second.. Jeff did the same with some leech patterns... We ended up going to scuds under an indicater a little later and started catching some fish.. Here is a nice one I caught.

As I continued to fish Jeff started working near that big one.. Which by the way hadn't moved all morning.. Just sitting there taking it easy... Well Jeff finally got him to take an olive flashback scud... Wouldn't say it was a huge fighter, other than it being a tank... bring it in, it would cruise back out, type of thing.. Finally landed it and it almost didn't fit in the net.. 26" exactly and FAT.. Here it is.. Enjoy..
